It’s a new year, new beginnings and my wife and are excited. Last year, we achieved some very big life milestones. We got married in July and then 3 months after that, we bought our first house. We have learned so much from both of those events that we want to continue to share them with you this year. First off, from the wedding, here are 4 Things a Real Couple Argued About While Wedding Planning. As far as home buying, the lessons we learned will be coming your way very shortly. Stay tuned for videos on the process as well as designing our new home together.
Now onto new goals, new resolutions and new experiences. Here are four resolutions you can try for this year:
1. ATTRACT what you want in life. Each day when life hits, we can either think about the good we want to come or focus the bad. It is very easy in this day and age to think about the worst possible scenario, but I want to challenge myself and you to think about the best possible outcome. To attract exactly what I want to happen in my life this year. From new collaborations in our home, to having the best first year of marriage, to increased friendships with all of you.
2. REMOVE toxins from food, life and thoughts. Toxins can be so powerful in destroying our bodies and minds. My goal is to eat in a way that is less toxic for my body, but trust me, I will still indulge in the occasional burger or sweet treats. Just trying to remain purposeful in what you put in your body. Same thing with the mind. I vow to read more and fill my mind with new and powerful thoughts for 2018. The first book I am reading to kick off the year is for both mind and body, It Starts With Food.
3. INSPIRE yourself by inspiring others. This world we live in is populated with more than just ourselves and our social media accounts. There are real life issues and real people who could use our help. What are we doing with the skills and privileges we have in life? I choose to inspire and lift up others even if it’s just for a moment. Because your life is a collection of moments and we never know if something so small for you, is something monumental for someone else.
4. PURSUE your dreams, goals and adventures. Don’t let the notion of pursuing your goals be a cliché, let it be something you strive for each day. Small steps can go a long way in achieving the biggest goals in life. I remember when we first started the blog and it felt daunting as if what we wanted was too big to attain. But we started small, took a photo each day and posted. Then started to make connections with followers and brands that slowly grew. This year, our goal is 50K followers on Instagram, but that will only happen if we pursue a little bit and grow each and every day.
Now have fun, make it your best year yet and here’s to 2018,
Devin + Marlene
